ToonDoo was probably my favorite of the 3 comic strip creators that I used. It was very user friendly and gives the user a variety of characters, backgrounds, props, and more. Even though it gave many options, it was still very easy to create. I also found that when I went to save, there weren’t any extra steps needed. It was very clear and easy to save or email to myself.
Pixton

Pixton was another program that was user friendly but lacked options. I went with the beginner option and found that if you are not familiar on how to create a comic strip, this would be the best start. Sometimes more options can create more issues. Pixton also did not allow me to download the comic because I had to purchase another package.

MakeBeliefscomix was also a great creator and gives more options than Pixton but not as user friendly as ToonDoo.
I plan to incorporate comic strips into my library lessons for next year because it allows the students to create and use their imagination. It is so much better than a paper and pencil. I would use them for each example I provided above. I would also love to use them as a daily diary. This would allow the students to share events that may happen. Because I do not see all of the classes every day, it doesn’t allow me to have personal get to know you time. This would be a quick way for them to express their thoughts and/or share events.
